SPY system today

Posted by matt on 3rd of Jun 2011 at 09:31 am

    June 3rd:

The SPY System entered a new long position today at the close.

The Single entry version entered a 100% position and the Multi entry version entered a 40% Long position.

Of course traders should handle all triggers however they best see fit.

    Easy fill after hours

    Title: June 3

    nice to know that some

nice to know that some of you got better fills after the market close.  I did a combination, I bought some SPY about 5 second before the close, but I also took some after hrs for a better price.

I didn't do any leveraged funds like SSO or options, I only bought SPY.  My plan is to use the leveraged instruments on multiple entries like the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th.  I looked back and every 4th entry was always profitable, so maybe I would do options or ES on the 4th entry if this ends up being one of those times.

I'm in. No one on this Blog is smarter than a 90% return. I'm trusting Matt and the system.

    I'm in, too

Posted by matt on 3rd of Jun 2011 at 04:32 pm

In the email that I sent out this morning, I said to check the blog and SPY page during the day.  If a change would have occurred, then I would have posted it, since there was no change, that's why I didn't post anything.  So in the future if I don't say anything, then the price is the same.

skyfish -- I think the idea is that whatever is on the sticky post at the top of the blog is valid until it is changed.  We're below the close right now, so buy if you didn't.

LOL! Your going to nail it again Matt! Amazing how close to the closing price your levels have been.

Is the trigger still "below $130.71?"

Good question, is that still the trigger? $131.71

guys stop asking, I said that I would say something if price changed, because I never said anything, then assume no change.  If I don't say anything, nothing has changed. You waste blog space by constantly asking the same question

I'm kind of rooting for the system to go long since I think it may get a nice trade out of it.  As we know the system is good at hitting 'Singles' like in baseball for a quick trade.  But we'll see I guess

Me too. A lot of bearishness out there; big part of it is due to the end of QE2. But dips are buying opportunities until the trend changes.

Well Matt what do I do now.  I saw where the system said buy below 131.83..so I did.  The only thing I can figure is the spy blog was not refreshing because at 3:55 it still said 131.83.  Let me know what you would do now.  Thanks.

    ??  Why didn't you check

Posted by matt on 3rd of Jun 2011 at 09:44 am

??  Why didn't you check the SPY page yesterday near or after the close, it says

June 2nd, market close:No trade today

    --------------

The SPY System currently has no position, it is 100% in cash waiting for the next trade.  The last position was a Long which was closed out on May 31st on the open (for a nice profit), that was entered on May 23rd at the close.  See the trade history for record of this trade.

The SPY blog also doesn't auto refresh

as far as what to do know, you have to manage this on your own.  I'd set a stop somewhere you feel comfortable with.  But I cannot legally advise you what to do. You have to make that decision on your own.  I'm not a registered investment advisor
