I'm looking at last year's calendar and what was happening this
time of the year and then another 2 months forward. time for a
repeat? recalling that history never repeats itself, but often
rhymes.
only newbies to this site would say such a thing about Matt and
Steve. I've been on this website for nearly 5 years +/-, and this
is easily the first time anyone has said such a nasty thing. You
are clearly wrong. It would be my guess you are on the wrong side
of the market. I strongly suggest you review what you did wrong vs.
what was said in last nite's update from BPT. Personally, I only
pay for investment advice when i get something in return. BPT in
concert with this blog, has provided enough ideas in 2014 alone to
pay for a lifetime subscription to BPT. My trading style may be
different than many of the folks here (and is only part-time), but,
it is PROFITABLE. good trading Haz.
really appreciate the bullish perspective. gives support to my
decision to add some short dec puts for several miners yesterday.
so lets keep their rally going into year end!
excellent call on reverse h&s. currently 4x overweight
(highly unusual for me), after doubling up wednesday (sold dec '18
puts) however, loosing 1/2 tonight with expiration (getting called
away). if i had been really smart i would have gone long the stock!
good trading.
there goes the 'baby' out with the bathwater.
. just went from an ugly day to an
uglier day. looking across the pond, markets down 3 - 4 percent
on close and we not yet quite down 3%, but wait a
few more minutes. note 10% correction on spx is ~1817. updating
with vix breaking above 30. (lst time was 12/8/2011)
further news reports say 'only' 132 people are being contacted,
besides, she didn't show any symptoms until the next day
(yesterday). what me worry? nope, panic in the streets.... getting
there. wonder what the next shoe to drop is? as in how many more
people are symptomatic in the next few days from the 'original'
case in Dallas. fasten those seatbelts tighter.... this is gonna be
a very interesting expiration on friday.safe trading....
looked like a panic attack (aka puking session) in the
first 15 minutes. long bond spiked 5points and 10yr went under 2%.
with the spx down ~32. most of europe off ~3% as i write. wonder if
the lows of the day are in? with a possible higher low later today?
we shall see. good trading....

Since 1950, the 6 months following Mid-term elections have been
positive 100% of the time with average gains of +15%.
wonder if i can take this to the bank? guess i'll have to await the
go ahead from BPT (as usual)
talking my position, so i'm biased. just sold some oct 5 puts @
$0.15. i am estimating that this company has ~$5.5 per share in
cash @ 9/30/14 (using the 6/30/14 numbers and reducing the cash on
hand by ~$20million negative cash flow for the quarter based on
prior quarters). stock is trading @ $5.70 as i write. yes they had
some negative news based on their current wonder drug, but is
everything else in the pipeline worth nothing? between now and
October 18th (or November expiry for that matter). why would
someone want me to own the stock below cash value. this is silly.
but i was happy to play the 'house' in this trade. if someone can
show me the error of my ways, i'd greatly appreciate it. good
trading....
I will look at TCK more closely tonight, looks promising.
already have VALE (short Oct. 11 puts , so maybe i'll own em, maybe
i won't, maybe i should double up?) juicy dividend and hasn't been
down here in the past 5 years. fcx isnt' cheap enough for me yet.
good trading
