You might consider that when the market gaps down removing your stops until after the first 15 minutes of trading. I usually reset my stops to the low of the first 15 min. unless it is a lot below my previous planned stop. A lot of the mm's will run the stops- especially on the open just to get 'cheap shares' and then the price tends to move up. Just an idea.

Medved Quote Tracker

I believe that quote tracker is only free if you have a td ameritrade account. I downloaded it the other day and was given two options- a)open a td ameritrade account or b) pay a monthly fee. I used to use it in the past when it was indeed free but then they changed. Do not know how you people are getting it for free. Please tell me. TIA

Interactive Brokers Schedule D

Posted by duesy on 30th of Mar 2010 at 07:05 pm

I believe that if you go to the reports section in IB and then select tax reports that you can download the information in a schedule D. IIRC they have the section D already filled out for you. I downloaded mine in Excel format and then I can make any necessary changes and attach that to a regular schedule D for the IRS. pm me if you need any additional info.

Matt,

Are you going to be offering the mech. systems that were EOD? It seems that lately most all of the newer mech systems that you have posted are based on 30 min or 34 min charts and systems.

Yes except all the monkeys in the White House ate all the damn bananas. Laughing

Thanks Tom- BUCY is up almost .50 over the buy point. Seems like construction equip. co's are hot today. Since GS has a target of 80 I suspect they will start shorting at 75 and up. Laughing

The 60 min $VIX closed outside of the upper b.band. The b.bands tightened significantly during the day and are now very narrow.

Interactive brokers

I have used IB for about 5+ years. Like most brokers they have good and bad qualities.

Good: low commissions, I have not had any major probs with fills and stops. Fills are usually very prompt. They often have stocks to short that other brokers do not.

Bad: very poor customer support, poor charting capabilities. Support attitude is what I would call 'typical new yorker'- very curt and seldom are you correct- they are always right.

I use stockcharts and ninja trader for charting etc. and only use IB for executions. I have several accounts with them and to my knowledge have not had most of the issues described in the review.

Like all things with trading-DYOD.  Good luck. PM me if you need more details.

NEM posted very good earnings- actually blew away their numbers. Probably why the stock moved.

You might want to check out etfsecurities.com for info on etfs that actually have bullion and are audited. The etf for physical gold is SGOL. They also have silver, palladium and platinum.

Interesting comments. BTW there is a gold ETF (SGOL)that actually has the physical gold when you buy the ETF as opposed to GLD and the other ETF that refuse audits etc. The physical gold is stored in Switzerland.Only problem is that the volume on this ETF is much less than the others.

Nice looking car. IIRC a couple of Tesla execs were recently killed in a plane accident. I wonder if that will have an effect on the company and it's production plans.
