Regarding the intra day mechanical systems, we have been waiting
on Mulitcharts to develop a trading platform where we can
automatically send the the trades directly to your account and it
will fill on your account without you having to anything!
However, because are hands are tied, we don't know when
Multicharts will have this developed (because that is very
sophisticated), we may go ahead and put out an option where we can
send you the trades via text message! Yes it's not as ideal
as having the trades go to your account automatically, however as
long as you act on the trades in a few min i.e. you manually do the
trades, it should be fine.
For this text service, we wouldn't charge too much, I can't give
a price, but it would be very cheap. Whereas the future
service where the trades would go to your account would obviously
be more expensive. The point is, in the mean time, maybe we
can do the text service while we wait on Mulitcharts to get us the
platform we need

Matt, what about using an RSI message - I think that's what it's
called. I used to get those from another site BEFORE BPT. They
worked well and may be even more timely than text messaging -
especially for those of us that don't have their cell sitting at
their desk all day long. Just another thought. I can't imagine it's
expensive. The guy I got them from was not interested in spending
any money he did not have to.....LOL!
Is there a way to do such signals on the website? Maybe a
separate "premium room"?? Speaking for myself I'd rather get the
signal off the computer. I guess if enough people were interested
maybe could just do a small nudge up on the subscription rate and
post in the blog?
Another idea that has crossed my mind is to open up a new
section on the website where trades could be posted. Perhaps
it could flash (like the watchlist) when a new trade is announced.
Would that be possible or advisable?
Matt -- I think texts to our phones would work more than good
enough. If we are at our computers, then it's easy. If not, we
could either execute them on PDAs or -- worst case -- place phone
orders for higher commissions -- but given how good the system
looks, even phone commissions wouldn't be the end of the world if
we needed to do it that way now and then. Also, it would eliminate
any concerns about computer glitches somewhere along the line that
could accidentally execute wrong trades.
I agree, all the latest smart phones can access the internet and
many brokers, TDAmeritrade is the one I'm familiar with, have
software to use with your phone. I suggest having "saved orders" in
with your broker to make it a few touches on your phone to follow
the signals once they are texted to the subscriber.
The problem is, that peter brought up, is someone devious could
start a messaging service where they set up an automatic forward to
a mass service or group of other people. Therefore the text
message may not contain the actual trade, but instead an alert
only, then you would have to go to a protected landing page
that displays the actual trade
Would there be a problem with accessing that site (landing page)
with a smart phone? I can bookmark sites on my phone and then key
in passwords just like a computer. It would be an extra step but It
seems like it would be doable.
Completely agree Matt - This would prob be the best way to do it
for now. As we all intend to use our PDA's or similar to execute
these , a quick tap in on my iphone to a protected area to
get the trade details prior to execution would be ideal until Stan
and his boys are able to offer a Multiucharts solution.
Not all of us want to go the Multicharts route and many of us
don't use PDAs or similar. Since the text message would likely only
be an alert to check the protected landing page on your website,
please give people the option to receive the alert messages thru
email. Many thanks!!!
