Sold 1 SPY system call, sold 1 option on AAPL. Not to get greedy
is the hardest lesson I haven't learned yet, so I'm practicing.
Never thought IBM would move that much except on earnings days
Thank you AAPL for making it all up and more... like that ad
They both look good. Bought them both. Thx.
Scary to buy at a bottom for a reversion trade, scarier to buy
at a top for a breakout trade. But they have both worked before, so
I'm counting on it :)
I would put all my account money in that fund.
Was there any news of infra deal or something? Stocks I'm
watching is going vertical. NUE, X, CAT, CX, GVA
SFIX starting to move?
Very unscientific, unsystematic 'indicator' that I sometimes
look at: wallstreetbets sub-reddit. When they are 'end of the
world is here' bearish and telling each other not to wake up the
next morning, it is a huge bounce the next trading day. They
were super negative from Friday to Sunday.
But that SPY system trade - I did take it on Friday after the
close but boy it was the scariest thing to go long at the end of
endless drubbing all week... Got one call option and small amount
of 3x ETF.
Just 'bought' XLB on paper. Very much oversold, daily candle is
doji totally out of bollinger band. Just to see if Monday forms a
white candle and complete the morning star pattern.
COST was in Thursday's Newsletter as 'either'. I'll be
watching... Judging by how XLY and XLP has been trading, I tend to
think the break will be to the downside, so probably the opposite
Is tomorrow a bust day, tech or not tech?
Big techs in my holding doing well (AMZN, NVDA, AAPL), plus
MRNA, ABNB, TSM. Everything else is either crap and I sold or I was
stopped out (reflation, cyclicals, energy).
I am slowly figuring out what works and what doesn't, for me.
Trying to trade often results in a near disaster because I am not
nimble. I think I spot good opportunities (thanks to BPT!) but
often I am too early or too late. I don't have much patience with
volatile small-cap stocks and end up losing. What works for now is
to buy a quality company at a low risk buy point and hold/monitor.
Not sure of putting stops though, as I have been stopped out in
this choppy market even if my stops were generous - so I often end
up being sold at LOD.
If US$ strength continues, maybe buy non-US companies, or EEM.
Already have TM.
My holdings have gotten automatic trim (aka stop loss), a tad
sooner than I could cancel. They took my ABNB at day's low,
Powell saying all the 'wrong' things... "Inflation could be
higher and more persistent..." No kidding.... You were supposed to
repeat 'transitory' in every single sentence LOL.
It already feels like Powell spoke LOL. Bad.
Thank you Steve. If you have time, can you elaborate on your
comment about "triangle pattern happens on 4th wave or B only"? I
am not that familiar with wave counts.
That's a good enough target. Thank you Steve.
ABNB taking out early June intraday high.
Stocks in industrial and material sectors are getting 'toxic'
too. Looks like 'reflation' and 'infra' trades are over.
I saw the headline earlier saying there may be a trouble at a
Chinese nuclear power plant in Guangdong province, 'imminent
radiological threat'. Fuel rods seem to have been damaged and they
are releasing noble gas.
