Russian stocks crashedby as much as 45%
and the ruble hit a record low against the
dollar on Thursday. The MOEX index plunged as much as 45%
before rebounding to trade down 33%, while the RTS index — which is
denominated in dollars — was down 38% at 8:25 a.m. ET. The crash
wiped about $70 billion off the value of Russia's biggest
companies.
Stocks related to electric batteries, miners, and charging, seem
to be perking up again. 5 billion for charging stations on
the interstate highways will help.
