we should be very near to a change.

Time to buy gold, goldstocks and sell the general stock market? Seems too risky to me but I woud not be surprised to see that happen. Maybe after the solution of the fiscal cliff problem. we'll see

Does a bottom look like that?

Apple is in pre-market very weak and trading below trendline. Market makers better push this one up or AAPL could lead the whole market down.

Does a bottom look like that?

To me apple looks like it wants to go down further. It looks vulnerable but has not broken down yet. Maybe a decision point for the whole market?

Zach, are you still short this hot bit.. and determined to beat it down to 90?

Could be a backtest of the uptrendline but looks still strong

Picking Tops - Europe

Posted by zwyss on 12th of Dec 2012 at 09:23 am

Picking Tops is difficult and one should not try to, I know......

But looking at german dax... we are right at resistance.  At least you would expect a reaction.

Looking at the Swiss SMI: In a very steep uptrend and makes one new high after another. When I look at some swiss stocks: A lot of them are at resistance and or showing signs of tiredness.

I'm still net long but today could be a trendchanger day....

I also remember kalimns posting with the 2007 chart......

We'll see.

development of asset classes from 2013...

Posted by zwyss on 8th of Dec 2012 at 03:35 pm

nothing technical, but a very nice read from seymour pierce (I don't know them...).

http://www.mineweb.com/mineweb/action/media/downloadFile?media_fileid=2353

the short version: We should be in a deflation phase, which is prevented by the money printers. So Inflation will start and increase (in terms of USD, and has been around for years in terms of gold). buys are gold, some commodities (especially food, energy), some equities (energy, food, defense, networking...) and sells are especially bonds and all sorts of leveraged and "risky" assets.

The end will be a system failure with a new monetary system.

Let me know what you think about...

How can someone trade Munis? Are there some Futures /ETFs?

Bonds

Matt/Steve

I really would appreciate if you could mention anything about bonds in the newsletter. I believe that US-government bonds (TLT, ZB-Future) are one of the bigger houses of cards out there waiting for a break down sooner or later. I'm not sure (or I don't think so...) if there is a technical pattern on the daily. On the 60 min there could be something like an ascending triangle. That would mean another (maybe last) push higher.

Opinions?

I wonder where the QE III money is.

Oh-Bumma reelected, so nobody cares about the markets?

Opinions here?

The right president for them, could break out soon...?

interesting. Probably Romney has known this and his Hedge Fund buddies began to short the markets a month ago.....

Thomson Creek (Moly Producer and Developer of Copper an Gold) was a trade idea a couple of weeks ago and mentioned a couple of days ago.

Right on resistance on the 60 Min. If cleared TC could go all the way back up.

as Matt says much riskier now in the short term, but there are still a few that are not extended. Maybe time to buy the laggards?

Obviously treasury bonds are poised to fall considering the fundamentals. Charts don't care about fundemantals but on the weekly chart you can see the the uptrendline is broken.

Where can be a good entrypoint for shorts (or longs in TBT)?

resistance @ 121 with also 200 ma

@122.5 - 123 gap and broken uptrrendline

@124 - 126 more resistance 20 ma and 50 ma

Is anybody looking for a swing short entry? Where?

I also tend to stay long the miners. It probably makes sense to sell a part from time to time and buy back on a pullback. But given the facts that gold miners are undervalued, gold has broken the downtrendline and has to go much further and also helicopter Ben who is making a very good job in destroying your currency.... it seems to be very difficult to pick temporary highs.... I tried it a few days ago and could not catch a perfect reentry...

EUR/USD

Posted by zwyss on 11th of Sep 2012 at 08:40 am

Matt/Steve/all. I would appreciate a comment about EUR/USD

I was looking for an inverse S-H-S with a neckline at about 1.27 - 1.275 but the move went to over 1.28. I'm not sure if the inverse S-H-S is still possible. Maybe there will be only a very small pullback to 1.275 or 1.27 and then up again?

The EUR/USD made a higher high with the recent move, for the first time since May 2011. Is the Euro-crisis over? Are we heading into a USD-crisis?

Thanks for answers

I'm really looking forward to

Posted by zwyss on 1st of Sep 2012 at 04:05 am

I'm really looking forward to the weekend newsletters. It seems to me that Gold has cleared some resistance in the way up, but broad indices and lots of shares look also a bit toppish  here (or 2 or 3 % higher)

Could that be cup and handle formation on GDXJ?

SMF.TO - Gold stock

gold stocks are on fire but there is another gold stock that is lagging. Could also be a bull flag on the 60 min.
