Sitting short SPY at 100% of single entry system 30 minutes before Fed announcement. Getting a bit nervous. Guess we learn the short term outcome soon.

How does this work if we sold SPY short last night and they price out the dividend today? This presents the false appearance in my account that I am up on the short trade so far, but I suspect I need to pay back the divident at some point?

German court will vote Sept 7 on whether EU bailouts are constitutional. The court is independent from Merkel. If they rule against the bailouts, the Europe situation will get bad fast!

I hold some PHYS in my IRA, and your warnings prompted me to hedge via GLD Puts. The gains on my Puts offset half my unrealized long PHYS losses, so I am pleased to have the Puts (which I just took profits in) since my PHYS is a long-term hold. Thanks!

I am also eager to see the answer to this question. Since I always hold some long term investments, I really need some SPY System shorts during downtrends to hedge my long losses.
