In case anyone out there is in need of a new computer, I can't say
enough good things about the hardware and tech support
at http://www.tradingcomputers.com/
I've got about a three year old F-35 and the hard drive, which was
mechanical, started to give out. Fortunately their backup drive did
a perfect job and (since the hard drive was out of warranty) they
sold me a new SSD drive, overnighted it to me, and then talked me
through the installation and restore (and I'm pretty ungeekly). I
can't believe what a huge difference the SSD drive has made -- the
machine was really fast before and it's significantly faster now.
I'm actually glad the drive failed because I'm so happy with the
improvement. Anyhow, just felt like giving them a free ad because
those guys really do make the best trading computers and their tech
support as the best I've ever had from any company.

Boy, what a humungous base -- like MSFT before it broke out.
Maybe the daily will form a handle on the cup which would provide a
nice entry -- if this bull market has another leg then ORCL could
be an interesting swing. Earnings are June 15th. I gather that
increasing cloud services are the big driver.
After watching Steve's weekend newsletters and realizing how
just about everything is at an inflection point (thanks Steve!),
I'm wondering if Apple's earnings on Tuesday might be the catalyst
that will tell the tale for the market. It's in a nice cup and
handle pattern, EXCEPT the volume pattern in the handle isn't good
-- vol should dry up in the handle and we've got two days of
expanding down volume -- maybe a tell -- but earnings are a crap
shoot and the big kahuna might well lead us one way or another. I'm
thinking the market might just mark time until then.
...and not backfill the gaps, then the charts would be filled
with lots of Abandoned Babies. I'm not expecting it but the charts
are now littered with floating dojis. Hopefully we get some follow
through and the babies will be OK.
Here's another bullish chart I found this afternoon. Clean
breakout on good vol. Clearly the small and midcaps are leading
which is usually bullish for the market. It also powered through
the 50 MA.
It's getting long in the tooth but probably still a valid
pattern. Would need to follow through now. Maybe the good thing is
that it's a little bit "hidden."
Not a perfect falling wedge, and volume today was blah and 50 MA
is right above (turned it back today), but if it can clear the 50
then it could make a quick run at the highs.
Thanks Steve -- I was just starting to look for any news that
might explain what just hit gold and you were there with a "real"
explanation before I could even google it, Thanks!

Perfect example of extended trendline support

As Matt is always saying, extend the trendlines...Here's the SPX 60, perfect support. And a nice doji setup for a long.

Looks like a bounce off support on Friday and a back test of the declining tops line this morning.

AAPL Daily -- Reverse Divergence?

Unless I'm missing something we've got nice reverse divergence on AAPL with the MACD looking like it wants to cross up, recycling at the zero line.
Should we gap down tomorrow...
