Basically the histogram is about to rollover to a confirmed sell
but as this looks to be the middle of some kind of corrective
market action, I am not trusting anything here.
Closed my preemptive short from late last week with small profit
but only because I want to roll out into Dec options. Will look and
watch and wait for clearer picture.
The 5 min version has turned back down after this rise, so maybe
the mod macd 30 min will push back to a sell, awfully close. Even
the adx whipped around but could be about to shift again....but at
this point the market is close to a decision pt, it either will
break up or down time is going to force it to make a decision.
as did your adx but no zero line cross yet.... the 5 min has an
8ma cross back to buy but no zero cross yet, going to be
interesting to see how this plays out.
Yesterday I said I didn't think that the histogram would cross
positive as we are in a corrective wave but it still went ahead and
barely did, so let's see how this continues to unfold, now that the
opposite is happening.
Ok dude your 5ema crossed for the sell and your ADX crossed too
a bit before.
Of course the 5min version turned late yesterday and confirmed
early today. I am liking this. Also, all the sto's on the 15 turned
down together this morning.
but i am looking to be short vs go long here based on other
indicators, but could be wrong check out the 5 min version
below...sometimes an early early warning system....though we could
see a last leg up to 1263-1267, imo...
So basically I am thinking that 1292 was the top of an A wave of
2 up, and that since then we are in a B wave...if correct, this B
has itself only seen it's ' a' and 'finishing 'b' now with a plunge
to a lower 'c' to come, maybe to 1185 area??
Ok if you followed that, here we go: the 30 min mod macd had the
8 ema cross over yesterday for the initial signal....however
since this is a corrective wave, I don't expect to see the
histogram break above the zero line, before the 'c' of B drags the
market back down...
I could be very wrong but this is what I am watching for.
The mod macd is something Matt posted about that another member
told him about.
Matt posted 30 min SPY and SPX charts with the macd histogram
settings of 25-170-25 and an 8 ema.
Further discussion here discovered that when the 8ema crossed
the histogram that was an early signal and then when the histogram
crossed the zero line that was the original or confirmation
signal.
Sure it can be whipsaw like at time but works well enough with
other tech tools. Also, i think Steve later posted a 5 min SPX
showing the same 25-170-25 with plain 8 ma and that works well on a
shorter term basis.
Nothing fool proof so watch it and get used to how it works in
conjunction with other tech tools.
Start with the politicians and union thugs, er bosses. Then
throw in the bankers who facilitated this irrational borrowing and
spending.
Ebenezer: Are there no prisons?
First Collector: Plenty of prisons.
Ebenezer: And the workhouses - are they still in operation?
First Collector: They are. I wish I could say they were not.
Ebenezer: Oh, from what you said at first I was afraid that
something had happened to stop them in their useful course. I'm
very glad to hear it.
Can they repudiate the Socialistic policies and wild free
spending and big govt that has placed them in this situation? Will
they turn on the Union and political machines that have promised
the world and delivered by bankrupting the nation?
What's worse is that if allowed to default, the rest of the
world will rush in to lend the next govt all it wants to keep the
fantasy going in another round of ponzi socialism and fraud.
Why should they have any confidence? Isn't the 'easier' way out
to basically default and not pay anybody anything? Short sighted?
Of course, but the mob wants what the mob wants NOW.
YES WE CAN do it here too, with just four more years! Sorry this
should be off topic, huh?
