more mod macd whipsaw

Posted by perthx on 7th of Nov 2011 at 11:46 am

Basically the histogram is about to rollover to a confirmed sell but as this looks to be the middle of some kind of corrective market action, I am not trusting anything here.

Closed my preemptive short from late last week with small profit but only because I want to roll out into Dec options. Will look and watch and wait for clearer picture.

whipsawed sell/buy --sell afgain?

The 5 min version has turned back down after this rise, so maybe the mod macd 30 min will push back to a sell, awfully close. Even the adx whipped around but could be about to shift again....but at this point the market is close to a decision pt, it either will break up or down time is going to force it to make a decision.

both 5 and 8ma crossed

as did your adx but no zero line cross yet.... the 5 min has an 8ma cross back to buy but no zero cross yet, going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

Yesterday I said I didn't think that the histogram would cross positive as we are in a corrective wave but it still went ahead and barely did, so let's see how this continues to unfold, now that the opposite is happening.

wish he could stop talking

What to make of these contrasting

Ok dude your 5ema crossed for the sell and your ADX crossed too a bit before.

Of course the 5min version turned late yesterday and confirmed early today. I am liking this. Also, all the sto's on the 15 turned down together this morning.

closing? as in end of day?

The mod macd is something Matt posted about that another member told him about.

Matt posted 30 min SPY and SPX charts with the macd histogram settings of 25-170-25 and an 8 ema.

Further discussion here discovered that when the 8ema crossed the histogram that was an early signal and then when the histogram crossed the zero line that was the original or confirmation signal.

Sure it can be whipsaw like at time but works well enough with other tech tools. Also, i think Steve later posted a 5 min SPX showing the same 25-170-25 with plain 8 ma and that works well on a shorter term basis.

Nothing fool proof so watch it and get used to how it works in conjunction with other tech tools.

It is the market finally catching up to the divorce filing of Kim K and hubby Kris H.

Oh my my my, the horror the horror.

And we should bail out Europe why?

Can the Greeks change?

GREEKS... WHAT A MESS!

Posted by perthx on 1st of Nov 2011 at 12:09 pm

Can they repudiate the Socialistic policies and wild free spending and big govt that has placed them in this situation? Will they turn on the Union and political machines that have promised the world and delivered by bankrupting the nation?

What's worse is that if allowed to default, the rest of the world will rush in to lend the next govt all it wants to keep the fantasy going in another round of ponzi socialism and fraud.

Oh themou!

no confidence?

GREEKS... WHAT A MESS!

Why should they have any confidence? Isn't the 'easier' way out to basically default and not pay anybody anything? Short sighted? Of course, but the mob wants what the mob wants NOW.

YES WE CAN do it here too, with just four more years! Sorry this should be off topic, huh?
