ooking for a CPA for day trader. I would like to structure my
activities so that
in the end it is all efficient when it comes to taxes. I have
google a lot and I read about incorporating a trading business. But
I have a full time job so I can’t file as a trader. I have very
limited knowledge in this field... so wondering if anyone has a
good CPA that they can refer. I am in bay area, CA so local is good
but it is not required.
I moved from Ameritrade to IB last year. I am currently using
TradeLog software from armen company. Its excellent in taking care
of the trades and matching up.
Prior to that I used Quicken but its gotten painful as the
number of trades increased.

This is my first year trading, and I have a similar question. All my trades have been through IB. How do other members deal with IB and tax issues?

Gainskeeper may be a non-cpa solution that is worth looking into.
