Fellow members. How do you enter orders for Watch
List stocks? Do you buy before the breakout, wait
for a pullback, or use a buy stop order? JAZZ is an
example. It broke out Monday. It wasn't
possible to wait for the breakout and make a profit. This is
pretty common. Comments are appreciated.
This won't wait for the price to reach the BP before
buying. Since the limit is highest price you are willing to
pay, if the current price is less than that, it will buy right
away. I use TDAmeritrade's Trade Triggers, which allow you to
enter a trigger point (of various types) which will then submit an
order (market or limit). Hope this helps.
I think the poster meant to say buy stop limit -- enters a limit
order when the BP level is hit. Limit would be something above the
BP that you'd still be willing to pay -- safer than a buy stop with
a market order in case it's a screamer
