Mechanical Systems

Is anyone manually trading 20,000 or more shares of any of the mechanical systems at a time (e.g. FAZ)? If so, do you place an order for all 20,000+ shares or do you break it down into multiple orders of (say) 5,000 shares? Do you place limit or market orders? If limit, do you have problems getting them executed when trying to exit at the EOD? How do decide where to set your limit orders? If you use market orders, do you find that the execution takes place at different prices that are increasingly moving against you? Thank you for your input.

    i bought and sold more

i bought and sold more than 20,000 shares of faz with fidelity and i did it all in one order ($8.00 per order) and i had no problem...faz trades in the millions of shares per day...

i forgot to mention, i use limit orders on just about everything just to be on the safe side...i don't know if they'd be required on faz because of the volume...but i got a good fill when i exited this mon since i sold into an up market...

You shld be able to execute 20K shrs FAZ with lim orders and get pretty good executions. I trade 50K shrs FAZ per order and usually no prob. 20K SSO is fine too... SRS be careful thou... Manual trades for me as I dun follow the mech systems.

Thanks! Do you enter all of your order at once or break it down into multiple orders? Do you enter limit or market orders (especially at EOD)?

    Single limit orders for me.
