I noticed that SRS 6 min system triggered Long about 45 min ago,
thats the EOD system. The swing system did not trigger yet,
that one uses 15/84 SMAs on 15 min chart
Yes the SKF swing system triggered Long today. It will
either work or it wont. The last signal shorted around 132
and covered at about 100. The system uses profit targets, which
helps to exit sometimes at the lows. The profit targets are
explained in the swing trade post below. This system is up
54% this month, last month it only made 4%, but then July - Jan it
made huge gains. The stats picture is with 100K, so the $gain
is the same as the percentage
I am confused. Does the 15 minute SRS swing system use
15/84 SMAs or 9/39 EMA's? Matt's sticky says the latter, and
yet america's post uses the former?
15 min SRS swing system uses 9/39 EMAs. 6 min SKF swing systems
uses 15/84 SMAs. Please note that both have profit targets and the
SRS system has a stop loss.
I already explained it, there are two 15 min systems for SRS,
one is EOD, one is swing, both use different MAs.
The post below are the swing trades. The link I provided
the other night contains only the EOD systems. I do not have
a page for the swing systems, but it is here on the blog in a
detailed post. It was originally posted in early Feb, however
I just posted it again a few min ago
it's weird matt. I use TS too and i have the same set up 8/71
sma two lines. But somehow my chart shows a buy and sell signal
early on. The two lines just briefly touched. But on your chart the
lines never got close. I am wondering why.
set them to 9:30 - 4:00 only, don't include pre or after hrs
data. You have to made a custom time in TS for 9:30 - 4:30
EST. If you set it to market hrs, it might show pre market
data
As you know, there is an EOD SRS 15 min system using the 9/39
EMA's, however here's a swing system using the same EMA's where you
hold overnight:
Parameters:
1. 9/39 EMA on a 15 min chart of SRS for market hrs
2. Stop loss of 10.5% (set with stop order)
3. Profit target of 21% (set with stop order)
4. Enter the trade SRS (Long/Short) when the EMA's
cross. Hold overnight and exit your position either on the
next EMA crossover or if your stop loss at 10.5% or profit target
at 21% is hit, which ever first.
The gains from this strategy were 3 times higher for 2008 than
selling EOD. Overall the system's gains are triple, however
there are more losers...this is the give and take you get with
swing systems, you have to be willing to accept larger losing
traders however the winning trades make up for it.
Now I do have an even better system, however it uses indicators
that are not available so therefore I'd have to manually alert you
to the trades.
Here's an example of one of the past trades of SKF 6 min swing
system with the 24% profit target! The first trade is a Long
as you can see, however notice the exit a couple days later (it
says profit target), this is where the system exited the trade
because a profit target of 24% had been met. Notice how the
price that it got you out at was a lot better than waiting for the
MA's to cross down again, which was the next day at lower prices,
about $14 lower.

remember, there is a 6 min SRS and a 15 min SRS EOD system.
we have two swing systems, one for SKF and one for SRS, they use different MA's and are not exited EOD
