IB Info and Help

I know many here use IB for their trades. I have just about had it with TS and their lack of ability to fill my short orders on may ETF's. In the past few days I have been rejected from shorting SRS, SKF, IYT, QLD, IYR, and others. It's costing me money and I'm not happy.

Would some mind sharing with me their opinions of IB - how is the platform, easy or difficult to use, what are their commissions, just the basics - also if you have an account rep, I'd be happy to go to someone folks here use.

    TIA for any help....

I'm happy with it and usually can short things. Look at site for commish (based on # shares, $1 minimum). Good platform for executions IMO. You'll need another source for charts -- I have Ninja and Strategy Desk. I've been able to get help from IB when needed, no particular rep tho. Can email me if you have other questions.

Robin, I am quite pleased with the IB. Support is hard to get too, but it's not needed almost all the time. Shorting is occasionally problematic too, especially at the reversal (top or bottom) junctions. I could not TLT short, etc. The trades are pretty cheap and are executed momentarily: no other broker I've used can beat their execution times.

If you want to short anything, use Scottrade: they always have plenty of available stocks. PM me if you need more information.
