FYI heads up will be some mean reversion system trades on
SPY and MES futures
Here's the systems that are long: Trend/Pullback on both SPY and
ES, and Strap on SPY.
We got lucky because these triggered yesterday! But I made the
executive decision not to send them because I strongly thought we'd
be lower
These are looking to take 2nd entries today - which is good for
us because we avoided the 1st entry draw down - doesn't guarantee
that an entry today will be a winner, but it's always good when you
can enter much better prices than the systems
since we didn't enter these yesterday, I have a couple options:
I could wait for the close - or send out a trade notification now
since prices are so much better
I went ahead and issued 1/2 order size on those 3 sub systems
here intra day - may do the other 1/2 at the close
I sent the email below earlier
letting you know about the mean reversion systems
because we avoided yesterday's 1st
entries, I'm electing to take a 1/2 1st entry here intra day, and
add the other 1/2 at the close
SPY and ES mean reversion systems
- Trend/Pullback long 1st entry SPY
- $10,000 SPY at current prices
- Trend/Pullback long 1st entry on MES - 1 MESU24 contract
- Strap Long 1st entry SPY - $10,000 SPY at current
prices
mean reversion does not use stops on the initial buy ins, they
tend to stop out of bad trades after a bounce vs on a hard stop - I
tested all those systems everywhere from Sunday and it was alway
better to stop out on a bounce vs at the lows - you always got out
better on a bounce
stops can come in after some time - after a mean reversion
bounce and if the systems hold, they will set a stop, or the
breakout uses a stop
but no stops on these trades right now, they are mean
reversion
