Market might be pricing in

Market might be pricing in successful lawfare with the outcome being no choice in November and another 4 years with this admin? If you only watch CNBC and Bloomberg the legal "experts" have been saying there was absolutely nothing strange about the trial, guilty was the obvious verdict, there's not likely to be any success on appeal and I even heard one judge say he thinks it's likely that Trump will be sentenced to jail time but under a house arrest framework because of secret service (said that even though jail is not common for these charges, Trump was a total jerk during the trial so he's likely to get a tougher sentence). He suggested he could have an ankle bracelet / tracker and will not be allowed to attend the RNC convention, except via a remote feed.  Kind of a lot for the market to digest...

    Since you put "experts" in

Since you put "experts" in quotes, I take it you are skeptical of their analysis and have a different take altogether.  I managed a major law firm for more than 35 years before retiring 3 years ago.  Every lawyer I know (there are many - highly educated and well versed in the law) agrees with the main stream media analysis...as did all 12 jurors...rather quickly.

Would love to know what you believe was strange about the trial.  Feel free to send me an email. My apology if I read you wrong.

    RichieD:    Respectfully,  every conservative legal

RichieD:    Respectfully,  every conservative legal expert  with a published reaction to the trial I've read so far have stated a litany of various  reversible errors committed,; criticisms of the conduct of the trial, the motivations behind it, the bias of the main players including judge Merchan;  questionable if not unethical trial tactics;  due process deprivations, among other criticisms.

Of course,  you won't find that critical commentary in NY Times or Wa Post, so refer you to postings from conservative legal experts like Andrew McCarthy, Bret Tolman, John Yoo, Trey Gowdy.  And non-conservative legal experts like Jonathan Turley, Alan Dershowitz.   Perhaps surprisingly, one of the most scathing commentaries on this lawsuit comes today from Elie Honig, former Manhattan DA worked with Bragg and now CNN legal contributor.  Invite you to read his op-ed today in New York Magazine, if you are sincerely interested in learning more about what was strange.

B/t/w, I work in a mid-size law firm in Kansas.   May reflect "flyover country", Midwestern conservatism and sense of fair play, but lawyers here that have spoken out mostly negative on the case.  Just a difference of degree.  FWIW

+1 Thanks. I will follow up

    Not a legal conversation website,

Not a legal conversation website, but if you tune to other news stations they have legal "experts" that say it was the craziest trial they have ever seen (for reasons I won't detail - tune in, if interested...wall to wall coverage right now).  Stark contrast between the "experts" on this one based on their biases....so the quotes around "expert" are somewhat appropriate, IMO.

    If they came after you

If they came after you since the golden stair case, you would be a jerk also, as would anyone.....  It is not right, no matter who you are....
