Bearish engulfing candles have been like catnip for the bulls
for how long now? Seems like forever. Seriously, they have
been decent buy signals for many months (I can think of 3 - 4 in
particular).
"Wait until you see the whites in their eyes" changed to
"wait until they have the bayonet in half in you"...then
fire.
We'll see if we get confirmation. Never got confirmation last
April on the last bearish engulfing candle. The SPX did eventually
pull back after that one.
