I need to report this since I posted it last Thursday - I showed
the GOOGL Volatility system taking a short - I actually took the
trade. Well, on Friday was my Dad's funeral and I wasn't here. When
I opened Tradestation on the weekend after rebooting the computer
the short was NO LONGER showing on the GOOGL chart!
What happened.....
What I think happens is that apparently these volatility indexes
on Tradestation are not updating their final price until 15 min
after the close - it's probably something to with waiting for all
the option data to be complied to final prices 15 min after the
close. I'm not fully sure but apparently these volatility indexes
do have their final closing bar at the 4 pm cash market close but
instead af 4:15
anyway point is, for these I need to wait until after that time
before posting and the charts should be hard refreshed to get new
data to confirm a trade.
sorry about that, but figured I needed to provide an update in
case anyone took that short. I took the short myself, so I took a
small losing trade, hopefully others didn't follow it, but if you
did now you know that it didn't short and you can decide to close
the position.
anyway with these systems there's always some weird things like
this that you don't think of or know about until it happens - lot
of complexity basically
