Mark Minervini preaches to never dollar cost average in if your
first entry isn't profitable. He also preaches progressive
exposure, but it's more like a 50% starter position, then add 30 at
a higher low and another 20 at a higher point for a full
position...each add being at levels higher than the initial
entry.

I'm aware of that philosophy, but I think you can miss some good adds at support points, so I sometimes add to a loser if it is still looking healthy.

Me too, but I'm adjusting now to take very small losses and then catch names I continue to like on reset entries.
