I would think they couldn't possibly do worse than they did with
the Bradley....but I've also learned NOT to underestimate the
moronomy inherent in the US gov procurement system.
I was in Gov Acq for many years. One of our most expensive
(and ultimately failed) programs was JTRS (pronounced Jitters -
joint tactical radio systems). We needed that program because we
realized after completing weapon systems including fighter jets and
tanks that they weren't spec'd with similar radio systems so they
couldn't communicate with each other on the battle field. No joke!
It's still a problem to this day.
