It doesn always work out. I did a thought experiment when I
started trading 20 + years ago on what would happen If I made 1%
per trading day in perpetuity. When the number computed was
incomprehensible (trillions) I quickly realized that scaling
expectations was going to be critical. If there were easy answers
in this business, we would have trillionaires. We don't, which is
instructive.
