Correct, no “Strike” price as in options
/ES is $12.50 per 0.25 move in price so 1 point = $50
/MES is $1.25 per 0.25 move in price so 1 point = $5
To trade 1 contract of /ES you must have $14,300 margin in your
account
To trade 1 contract of /MES you must have $1,430 margin in your
account
Example – Buy 1 /ES contract at 3942. Price goes up 1 point to
3943, if you sell at 3943 you make $50. If price goes from your
purchase price of 3942 to 3941 and you sell at 3941 you lose
$50.
There is usually around $4 commission for a buy and sell of 1
contract.
Correct, no “Strike” price as
SPX 3
