Fundamentals are boring, except WHEN ALL OF THEM ARE BAD and
worsening. I work (little remote IT part time job to help a buddy)
in real estate education business (continuing ed, licensing,
mortgage licensing, etc), and real estate is going to get crushed
& how bad it will be hasn’t really kicked in yet, but it’s
coming fast.
Real estate agents are going to go from making more than they
ever have (and it’s not even close) to making almost nothing.
The re market (commercial and residential) are already
basically frozen; these agents were selling homes / buildings
above ask the first day they hit the market just a few months ago
& now….. selling next to nothing.
I don’t know if it’s 2008 bad but wouldn’t be surprised,
based on the things I’m hearing and seeing anecdotally it
could be worse.
This is pretty scary stuff. Like that UoM chart

Rent delinquency rates among US

Rent delinquency rates among US small businesses increased significantly this month. About 37% of small businesses, which between them employ almost half of all Americans working in the private sector, were unable to pay their rent in full in Oct.: report https://bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-10-31/us-small-business-rent-delinquency-rates-rise-sharply-in-october#:~:text=Rent%20delinquency%20rates%20among%20US,rent%20in%20full%20in%20October.
