Hi Matt/Steve following on to this theme - For those of us who are not traders, it would be very nice if you can post/suggest a stock or 2 per week which are medium  to longterm hold.

    I'd say the vast majority

I'd say the vast majority of our trade ideas end up giving trades that could last for many days to weeks - AMD, NVDA recent examples. and AMD has been a story stock of mine for years now, same with TSLA.

Having a long term idea pick every week or 2 is probably not practical.

the best longer term ideas come after doing research into a company. We do that but don't have time to do it week after week.

I post charts that look on weekly time frames and one could attempt to trade those longer term - but always with some sort of stop and trailing stop to each new higher low vs just buying and forgetting it

    Regarding swing trades - first

Regarding swing trades - first understand field position of the market best to enter after some pullback/basing a higher low has been established.   Then look for the sectors and then individual names that also exhibit those traits.   COST and NVDA are a couple that you can review that would meet such parameters (several others as well over the past few weeks).   I suggest you take time after hours and review many of the prior setups when the market met these parameters and see the patterns.  Some valid setups will likely get stopped out as well but you have a good risk reward setup then simply manage in accordance with your objectives.  You will also have to be aware of earnings or any news events (especially on smaller names that could impact price) so I suggest you also do some fundamental review if planning to swing certain names.  Please understand that we cannot provide direct investment advice but suggest you focus on setups that have bases for swings vs chasing extended names.
