Wall Street legend Dr Michael Burry's tweet from 2 days ago.
Someone must have showed him that famous margin debt chart that has
been passed around Wall Street circles which shows margin debt from
2020-2021 increased 2 standard deviations above the mean. The last
2 times that happened in the past 30 years was 1999 and 2007. Two
orders of magnitude and two standard deviations above the mean.

I wonder how margin debt as a percent of total market cap
compares to prior years? Perhaps that would be a more apples
to apples than nominal margin debt compared to prior years nominal
margin debt?

I would expect it to be linear, i.e. margin debt percent is
increasing at the same rate as market cap but as you've implied (I
think) the ratio (not sure where we'd get the data) could likely be
getting ahead of itself as a new indicator / market tell.

Yeah - if margin debt doubles, but so does market cap, I think
you're in the same place even though it seems like an "extreme" if
you look at debt only.

Tik Tok Tik Tok.... I love your bearish reminders. I'm not
being facetious, it's great perspective and I believe 100% it's
gonna happen (27% down spike... not yet though). Now, as for
the current party -> let's open the door to a deeper flush ...
C'mon Prime Day Sale for Equities ! The fact that I'm begging
for it likely means ain't gonna happen but maybe we can get a
SWAPSEE today... Techs Down, Cyclicals Bounce before the sale ?
