phenomenon maybe this is finally the momentum that breaks the back

EXACTLY, that's what non traders don't understand when I hear
people even politicians say things like we should ban all shorting,
just lunacy from some of these people
WE can only hope so ! They have been doing this for so long they
have to keep doing more and more. It is insane. This affects the
entire world not just little stocks like GME.

Short sellers provide liquidity and also protection for mine financing so a positive influence overall.
Lose the shorts and your market spreads and volatility could potentially increase.
