The top sectors today were

    The top sectors today were energy, technology, and consumer discretionary. Starbucks (SBUX) lifted the discretionary sector after giving a positive update at its investor day last night.

    The worst-performing sectors were industrials, materials, and utilities. CSX (CSX) weighed on the industrial sector after receiving a downgrade from analysts at Morgan Stanley.

    In the S&P 500, eight of the 11 sectors finished lower.

    The leading sectors were Energy  +2.92%, Financials  +0.16%, and Technology  +0.07%.

    The laggards were Materials  -0.93%, Materials  -0.73%, and  Utilities  -0.50%.

    Oil +2.99% rose again on optimism that a vaccine will spur a return to "normal" economic activity.

    Gold +0.03% rose as the ECB unveiled more stimulus measures.

    Bitcoin +0.46% was mixed on the day.

    law - what you posted below is not from today.   That was last Thursday that MS downgraded CSX and the sector numbers are definitely not from today.  Thanks for the effort but check for today's data.
