I need to update these old Sell in May stats, haven't done that
in a couple years, last I updated was 2016, I pulled out my
spreadsheet. This one uses the MACD cross to exit later or
earlier than May. You start to look for a MACD cross in early
April for an early sell or later sell, and of course in Oct for an
early buy or later buy than simply Oct 1st
it's not perfect but over the long run most of the gains in the
market have been made in that 6 month time of the year and the
other 6 months actually down over the last 60 plus years crazy
yes, I have to looks to see if I'm using the non standard
setting like Stock Traders Almanac does (they use two different
settings for exits and buys), however I think I'm using the same
setting for both. Again I have to pull it all up again, it's
been a while
