Gold Elliot Waves - Has anybody charted the Elliot Wave Count
for gold on a weekly/monthly basis?
Found this guy's wave count over on
tradingview.comand it scurred me a
little bit. He puts gold as entering the b wave following the V top
back in 2011. Once the b wave is over, we obviously enter c wave
and his target for that is 500-700 area. I guess I had kind of
assumed if we got over this gold hurdle at $1370 that we would be
in a full-on new bull market.
NOTE: The left panel in the picture is the Daily Count..... The
right top panel is the Weekly Count..... the right bottom panel is
the Monthly Count
Just wondering if people have any alternate counts.
Also, I'm looking for a tutorial on Elliot Wave analysis so if
anybody knows a good place to learn?
We've been saying for years that the secular bull ended in 2011,
and I said last year and this year that I view a rally as a
cyclical bull in the ongoing secular bear. Remember I've been
thinking that if gold can breakout of the weekly triangle pattern
then it has a shot to go up to the 1500's, maybe 1600, but not a
secular bull. Even the charts here you posted from the EW guy
show gold first going higher in his charts before it goes lower in
his C. I personally don't think gold will go that low myself.
This year I lean up if it can break out of that
triangle to the upside.

Thanks Matt. I had read where you said the secular bull had
ended in 2011. I guess I wasn't sure if a new one could be
beginning here in 2018
(I hadn't read where you said "I view a rally as a cyclical bull
in the ongoing secular bear."... so that's good to hear/know.)
I know the EW guy says we get another upleg right here (above
1370).... I'm not really questioning that. It was just a matter of
what wave count that upleg would be.
Thanks again.
