this morning I was able to sell SPY 282 calls for 11 cents, and
SPY 281 calls for 22 cents, naked, which expire today! Figured
those were money in the bag, now they've dropped to 2 cents.
Selling naked calls and puts takes a lot of margin but I like
doing it on the weekly options, Monday, Wed, Friday. On
Friday I'll sell calls and puts that expire on Monday for example,
and today I might sell calls/puts that expire on Wed, and
especially tomorrow, then on Thursday I'll sell calls or puts that
expire on Firday - the point is I'm basically predicting out about
a 1 day or so which I can generally do. I don't try to get much
premium and I sell out as far as possible, even if it's only 10 -
15 cents, but SPY price is 3 - 5 away, I can generally predict
where SPY will not go in a day or two, if I have the extra margin
available I figure why not
