A few corrections to look at for comparisons: 1987, 1990,1998,
2010, 2011, 2015, 2016. As Matt posted below, there are many
scenarios that could unfold
this is a good article, I suggest folks read it, he put that out
on Friday morning however it's good because it goes over past large
corrections like this and how they behave, how long they tech etc.
I was planning to do something similar this week with some of
my indicator settings, however this is a good start
I will post charts of the many corrections during bull markets
over the past 30 to 40 yrs. When looking at them, one thing is for
certain they are all different and anything can happen. As
Arthur's Article infers, corrections can take many months to
unfold and work off the over bought conditions. Some
corrections go down suddenly like 1987, while others were slower
with a series of lower highs and lower highs. Some consolidated for
a short time at the current range the SPX is currently at, before
dropping hard to a total correction of 20% plus. Many seem to
touch the lows up to 6 times over a few months. We have only made
one low so far.
As Matt and Steve have keep saying, don't get wrapped up in
prognostications, but focus on current price. The low may
have already been put in, or there is a risk that it could drop
another 10%.
I converted it into a PDF, however I can't attach PDF's here.
I asked my programmer to add that feature so that I can
attach PDF files here. However I'll be discussing similar
charts tomorrow.
Hi Matt, I have used a free tool called Snipping tool to take
screen shots and saved as jpgs. The article is attached below
in 12 parts. (There is a free version of Snipping on the web. I
used it all the time.
I'll be making a video on this as I put my own twist on it.
I'll also put charts in the newsletter however I think it may
help to do a video first as I can point things out easier.
again some ask us, why don't we do videos all the time?
Because it's 10 times harder to do, and takes a lot longer,
so I do it on more special situations
