received this message regarding Tradestation, I suggest if you are using TS and have it open, don't close it.  This is important because if I'm unable to open TS I cannot give signals to the systems.  I'm very positive it's related to the huge CPU vulnerability that hit the news yesterday and windows put a patch out for.  My TS is running, I typically leave the computer running for days to weeks at a time, I will not reboot as I'm sure TS would then not open.  However I'm mentioning this because you never know, as your computer could lock up and you have to reboot, and Windows could force a reboot due to the patch.

    .....

Clients running a Windows 10, 64-bit operating system are currently unable to launch the TradeStation desktop platform. We believe this issue is related to a recent security patch to Windows 10.

Until a resolution for this issue is identified and implemented, please use the Web Trading application in your web browser by going to TradeStation.com. In the top right area of TradeStation.com, select Login, then Select Web Trading – Live, or Web Trading - Sim. You will log in using the same credentials you use when accessing the desktop platform. Also, you may use the Android or iOS app on you mobile devices to manage and monitor your accounts.

    To prevent automatic updates in

To prevent automatic updates in Windows 10, there is a trick one can employ which I just learned and used.  Go to "Services" and select Windows update.  Open that up and you can deselect the automatic updates from occurring.  See this link for more info: https://www.easeus.com/todo-backup-resource/how-to-stop-windows-10-from-automatically-update.html

If anyone has already received the update you can roll it back.  See this link for the procedure: https://www.howtogeek.com/206271/how-to-roll-back-or-uninstall-a-problematic-windows-update/

One thing you can do is to remove the security patch installed for Tradestation to work again. Go to "settings -> update&security -> update history -> uninstall updates. Click on Security update under Microsft windows section.  It will reboot and then after that Tradestation will work again. Remember it will work windows install the patch again overnight. I have been doing this everyday to make it work. If you want to  permanently remove the automatic updates, you can google and figure that step by step actions to do so.
