FYI this is an early notification: As you know the SPY
Mechanical systems are currently flat, however with today's down
move they may be taking a long position today at the close:
The SPY Pro System, SPY Ver 2, and SPY RSI 2 systems may all
take a position today at the close. However remember that the
SPY Ver 2 and SPY RSI 2 systems scale in to positions in two parts
of 60% for the first entry and 40% for the second, thus if these
systems take a position, it will only be 60% each.
Remember my comments on trading the 'Combined SPY systems' vs
only the SPY Pro, trade all three basically. Here's the
breakdown percentages how I allocate capital to this:
SPY ProSPY Ver 2 SPY RSI 2
1st Entry 40%
18%
18%
2nd Entry N/A
12%
12%
So as you can see, 40% goes to the SPY Pro system, 30% each for the
SPY Ver 2 and SPY RSI 2 systems, this totals 100%. Since the
SPY Ver 2 and RSI 2 systems scale in, the first entry would be 18%
for each of them. I realize this is complicated at first, but
not so much once you really think about it and understand it, so
let's take today for example: So if all the systems take a
long position today and one was trading all the SPY systems as a
combined system, one would buy 40%, 18% and 18% or 76%. If
only the SPY Ver 2 system was going long today, one would only buy
an 18% position, if only the SPY Pro was going long, one would buy
40%. The % is based on the capital that is allocated to the
systems. So if one allocated 10K to SPY then 4K would go to
the SPY Pro, and 1800 for the SPY Ver 2 and 1800 for the SPY RSI 2
if everything goes long today.
If conditions are met for a trade, which they currently are
but it's the close that matters, I will send out an official trade
notification, however I will wait until near the close so that it's
confirmed.
FYI - the decline has been so strong that at this moment
the SPY systems are no longer indicating a trade because a filter
likely kicked in. we have 17 min left, so I have to wait
until the close to confirm this
yes there's a filter for something like that i.e. a certain %
gap down and sell off etc. the SPY Pro has a about 40 various
filters, it's quite complicated
however right now the buy signal is coming and going, it's on
the edge, that's why I have to wait for the close to confirm
looks like the SPY needs to close about about 207.41 or better
in order for it to take the trade and price is going above or below
that, so it's on the edge, that's a real world example of why I
can't confirm these early in the day sometimes

yes - I have to wait for 3 min after the close because TS doesn't close the set price until 3 min after the close
Spy Pro Combined (SPY Pro, SPY Ver 2, SPY RSI 2)
Spy pro Combined will be entering 76% of it's position at 207.50 or better
Spy Pro Single
Will be entering a long position at 207.50 for 100% of the position

so out of the SPY systems, the 2nd entries remain for the SPY Ver 2 and SPY RSI 2

Matt,
Thanks for the explanation. Please send out a notice before the close (30min from close).
Thanks
30 min is not possible,
Posted by matt on 6th of Mar 2015 at 03:39 pm
30 min is not possible, not if the systems are close, the worst thing would be to send out a confirmation then have to retract it in after hrs.
Ditto Trade, will execute the trades fro you in after hrs if that's a problem and I think they do retirement accounts
