Slightly off topic but also not really, as you know as traders
many of us have multiple screens, such as 3 - 5 monitor
configurations so that we can watch as many charts at a glance as
we can. These days, 1080 resolution is pretty much the
norm.
For my current setup, I use three 30 min Dell monitors with a
resolution of 2560 x 1600 resolution, so they are much higher than
1080 which is 1920 x 1080. I am looking to buy another 30
inch monitor, however these are still quite expensive at $1000 -
$1500, therefore I'm considering buying a 4K monitor instead.
Now a good 4K monitor will cost about $5000 for a 30 inch
monitor. HOWEVER there's a cheap brand called Seiki, that
sells a $39 inch monitor for only $520!! That's crazy cheap,
I think I'm going to buy this instead. Now clearly it's not
going to have the best refresh rate etc, but I plan to use it as a
computer monitor so it may be a good fit.
I'm all about having as much real estate as possible, the 1080
HD resolution screens are just not enough for me, however 4K is
nice with its 3740 x 2160 resolution! I can fit a lot more
charts and windows on this monitor than my 30 inch monitor with
their 2560 x 1600 resolution.
Anyway that's my next project to try this out, I'll let you guys
know how it works.
HDMI rocks! I use my HD 50-odd inch television as my monitor for
the PC.
Same or better specs vs. the best monitors available, until the
new 4k's arrive. Even then, the real estate area is still much
larger. In this instance, yes size matters.
It's just a cable to swap between
sources. Some even have multiple HDMI inputs, so one
just uses the remote to switch the 'channel.'
I have a 6 monitor setup..bot 6 acer 27 inch monitors on ebay
for 190/monitor.And they run cool, which is important if u trade 8
hours a day like me. Acer has there own ebay site.

Thanks Matt. This is important information.
Also I am considering an upgrade to my antique computer. Can you
also please assist here and suggest a cost effective optimum
hardware and software requirements for trading purpose? Thanks.
I am presently using 3 monitors of 24" and 1920x1080.
computer processor is intel dual core and 4 Ram which is not
enough!

Kind of surprising that it only has VGA, not DVI
