OK...I am venting. Yesterday, I purchased 200 shares of
CELG at 74.30 with an initial stop at 72. Concerned that the
market is dangerous here, at the end of the day I put a breakeven
stop at 74.40 watching the aftermarket which seemed to stabilize
around 74.60. At 9:33.02 this morning, the market maker at
the bid ran a bid around the mid 72 then at 9:33.03 CELG went back
to 74.94 where I was stopped out. I talked to Scottrade about
this running of the stops and apparently this is within the rules,
though a little unusual. As I write at 10:39 AM EST, CELG is
75.39. This is so aggravating. I will get back in CELG
since it is technically at a good entry point but, venting, it is
tough to trust these markets when your stops are showing. Do
any of the members have any suggestions?
to me on sppi two days ago NEVER EVEN touched my stop buy back
price but because ask was higher before the open they triggered
it.TD canada credited all my trade fees and I re shorted .Market
makers must do this every day.So now I change /cancel stops before
open then put back on after market opens.Canada is different Td
told me the price must actually TRADE for it before you trigger
stop loss.

Thanks honzer. In the past, I have keep mental stops as
this has rarely happened to me before. I like you suggestion
on canceling stops before the markets open, then put them back on
after the markets open.
