Wow nice trade on the Dow futures, you can really get some nice
trades, by the way I'm using a 34 length and type 6 on the M3
switch, it follows price well, but you can't use that on its own,
use in conjunction with other things, like divergence and
other indicators
anyway now that I am freed up from the SPY system development
(which took many many months and hundreds of man hrs), one of my
goals is to come up with some intra day futures systems. I've
been trading YM, but I don't have it set as an automatic strategy,
I'm manually trading it, the goal would be to at least put out a
package of indicators that work together well, along with a set of
rules. Then maybe automate it eventually.
and tend to follow the /es. They are also
good for learning to trade futures. However the commissions
are the same... so your profit margin is not as good as the /es
. But the same can be said for why not
trade the /tf which follows the russell. THe ticks are
10 bucks and if you catch a wave.. you can make a good profit..or
loss if you are on the wrong side.

Matt why do you trade the YM and not the ES? Dont you find the YM not as liquid?
I actually prefer the lower

I actually prefer the lower margin on the YM, only $5 per point vs $50 for ES and $100 for TF. I find it easier to sit through noise psychologically.
WIth your money Matt.. you should be trading the big SPX contracts.. LOL
