piassfg- the
GDX/GLD ratio lately has been a little better, but that's just
recently, otherwise overall it has not, in the majority of cases
the BPGDM gave earlier signals. I looked at all the past data
and the GDX/GLD gave earlier signals only 3 times out of 32
signals!
It's only recently from Oct when the GDX/GLD ratio started to
give earlier signals. Now the 3 recent earlier crosses by the
GDX/GLD ratio have been better, will this one be? hard to say.
But I just wanted to make you aware that this is ONLY
recently, over the live of the system the BPGDM has given earlier
signals then the GDX/GLD ratio by 32:3
remember when analyzing a system, you have to look at the whole
picture, not just the most recent data points. Now it's
possible that I might make a condition/rule where if the GDX/GLD
ratio crosses earlier, take that signal instead, but with only 3
out of 32 times I didn't want to do that just yet.

Matt, how does the GDX:GLD ratio on the 60 min chart figure in
this discussion? I've been using that and it has been a help to
avoid some whipsaws and to gain better entry points. But I haven't
done the longer term research so I don't know if it works long
term.
