I spent about 8 hrs today mulling over all the trades and
statistics for the GDX swing system, it was very tedious, but
needed to clear up some confusion and errors that I had. I
also made some major changes to the rules, so make sure to read it
over
Matt, I have $BPGDM data back to Feb 2008. You mentioned
you only have the 2009 forward data. Let me know if you'd
like it. Also, anyone else who wants it, just let me
know.
FWIW my backtesting shows the best results with a Long entry
using the 6SMA and a short entry using the 3SMA.
Proshares has stated they have one sitting with the SEC.
I have asked them many times for a inverse GDX and two
time long GDX which they tell me they are working on.
this has been covered multiple times on the blog, use one of the
inverse Mutual funds for precious metal stocks. No DGZ is
ultra short gold, it's not gold stocks, you can't use that.
SPPIX is the inverse precious metals fund, that'st he one to
use
PMPIX is the 1.5X Long Fund
However realize that intra day stops do not work with these,
since they are end of day
Also there is no inverse ETF for GDX at this time, US version
that is. I think there is on on the Canadian exchange.
However I didn't make this system for 401K's or IRA's, It's a
general trading system. If you can't do it in your 401K or
IRA, then do it in your normal trading account. However I
know that some members here use the Profunds Mutual funds with
success
