I know this might start some political nonsense and words but I have to say I am proud as a Canadian that our government finally stood up for some of our national pride and resources......Too often many of our precious natural resources have been sold off to foreigners including alot of the the Canadian oil sands.

I am glad that our government is somewhat forward thinking and actually realizing commodities are going to be in high demand in the years ahead and keeping some of our star natural resources companies in Canada.

I know it could start a wave of proctectionism but it is pretty rare up here in Canada for our government to take such a bold stance........I say it is about time and I am happy they have done it.

    It's called protectionism and it's

It's called protectionism and it's not a good thing for the markets to work freely like they are supposed to.  The US did it a couple of times, most recently I think when a chinese company wanted to buy Unocal and we used the "national security" issue.  Unless it is written into the constitution, or has become law that foreign companies can't buy a company in your country I think any company is up for grabs.  The US has laws that prevent forign companies from owning more than a certain percentage of autos, rails, and airlines.
