I know this might start some political nonsense and words but I
have to say I am proud as a Canadian that our government finally
stood up for some of our national pride and resources......Too
often many of our precious natural resources have been sold off to
foreigners including alot of the the Canadian oil sands.
I am glad that our government is somewhat forward thinking and
actually realizing commodities are going to be in high demand in
the years ahead and keeping some of our star natural resources
companies in Canada.
I know it could start a wave of proctectionism but it is pretty
rare up here in Canada for our government to take such a bold
stance........I say it is about time and I am happy they have done
it.

Great, great analysis Matt.........this is why I subscribe to breakpoint.
You and Steve give both the short and long term scenarios and both the bear and bull sides.
Keep up the great work.
Cheers.

The thing that strikes me
SPG monthly

The thing that strikes me about that chart most notably is the pitiful volume on the rise up last few years.
Really think we could eventually go down pretty hard.
Correct me if I'm wrong

Correct me if I'm wrong but is the volume not absolutely pathetic on this choppy upmove??
Can someone confirm the volume?
Currency Crosses

One of the currency crosses I have been watching for awhile now is the YEN:AUSSIE swap as it seems to portend big changes.
Just look what it may be signalling now as it has broken out of a trading range since bull market began in 2009........What does this mean??
YEN:AUSSIE CROSS
Any comments.......could mean volatility could go up from here.

Long term USD
Posted by bullau on 22nd of Mar 2011 at 12:21 am
Peter "el douche" Grandich made a post tonight about long-term US Dollar and got me thinking he may not be that far off.
Long term US Dollar looks like it is consolidating before a big drop and fundamentally it all makes sense.
Any thing to this big Head and Shoulders formation Matt/Steve??
USD LONG TERM
I figure 2014/15 is when it breaks the trendline for good if it consolidates for the same amount of time.

As much as I think Grandich can be self-serving he has a pretty amazing track record of calling tops and bottoms.
Of course, not as good as Matt and Steve.........That goes without saying.

Aurelian Resources made many millionaires overnight.......I missed that one and almost bought it before the big takeoff.
Isn't UWE properties based in Bolivia?? Political risk is what worries me with many South/Latin American companies.
