On my 5 min SPX, I like to use: 60 period stochastics and the 8/21 EMA and 50 SMA.
60 period stochastics can work well for identifying moves, especially when the MA's come together.
Please note: This setting is a guideline only, it's not a mechanical system and won't work this perfectly all the time, but it's something to note
when the 60 period sto crosses he 20 or 80 line what are the 8,21 emas doing...look at the chart for your answer...now you have a confirmation to look for too....

Change your MACD to 4,20,8 (the 12,26,9 is for daily charts) and use the MACD crossing 0 as a trigger.
