Thx. Just wanted to share what I discovered on futures pricing
carried overnight -
OK second try here’s what I learned I purchased Futures
contracts at 4:59 PM last night when I came to my computer this
morning my entry price has been reset to the market at the
high Tick of the previous day my heart sank as I was now down to
15+ points-I contacted the trade desk and they reassured me that
everything would be readjusted after tonight‘s close at 6:01 PM the
desk said that all trades are priced at the high tick of the day
for a long and the low-tickof the day if you’re short this is an
accounting process set by the CME I was not aware of this so other
than some palpitations everything should be corrected tonight it
was just an accounting process they use -and I didn’t need
Xanax
So be aware your losses on long is notas much as you think
profit on the short and not be as much as you think just an
alert
Final comment
Here’s a 12/31/23 maturity with 2.625 coupon priced net to
customers at 98.22 for a 10 month yield of 4.798
A lot of the smaller firms can not carry the inventory of
treasury bonds so the bigger firms are the ones that play in this
market sorry for getting off on this tangent is my
final thoughts on it
There’s also a secondary market which is actively traded if
you’ve got a broker who’s got access you can check those prices mid
week or almost any day I believe
The guy I work with just worked a 10 month maturity for over 5%
last week even their money markets are over 4% I’m not looking for
every basis point so it’s just an easy roll over for me every three
or six months
The community is delayed by three days for non registered users.
Thx

Could be. - the maturity date is what matters if it meets your plan- also it’s a reasonably active market and can sell. Anytime and no state taxes
True on losing$$ in bonds - I even lose in golf :)
