NYMO

Theres alot of talk about another big fall next week. I am not so sure as some indicators rae reaching levels seen during prior material declines so maybe we bounce to some degree next week or at least stabalise

within the equity curve, what is being built in for slippage and dealing costs? They have come back yes so it will be interesting to see how they perform in the coming months to see if the trend continues

to be honest, you can

to be honest, you can always upgrade if needed. Extra is a good package and I use this one.

....usually a bearish intraday sign for the market if memory serves me right

also on the dailies, the S&P has made a marginal higher high whereas GE hasnt which i think also signals some reversal over the next few days

bulkowski has done some good work and the great thing is that its objective

something i use for intraday screening uk stocks is autochartist which i attach a couple of screenshots

all i have to do then is be selective on which stocks to trade. saves an immense amount of time and draws patterns in a consistent single defined way

Sell Off Coming?

spot on matt.....to a certain degree. too much emotion, too much focus on news and in the end, its the charts that really matter. in terms of ew bashing, i disagree. many ew posts talk about prechters latest count etc. well if his analysis.theory works, i say prove it. otherwise, ew bashing as you all it is actually value add as it puts us traders off following "bad" analysis

hi. yep as the other

hi. yep as the other poster rightly states, use @ at the front. also stick .d at the end if you want to see just the day session

sharing no analysis is more financially bebeficial than sharing ew crap. why ask what i shared last if you dont care you muppet, actually i think it was to short celg and long dwa. not bad calls

....and of course with EW there is always an alternative scenario at play or someone has a different view of the diagonals. Here is another for you that says the ending diagonal is dead....http://chart.ly/6p7ptm

Which one is right? Well lets put it this way, whichever one is wrong the blog/site author will simply put his alternate scecnario up and the world is good again

Google ending diagonal and I am sure you will come up with 10 different scenarios.

The most subjective (and in my opinion useless) analysis you can find is EW

You may have missed this

Pretcher

You may have missed this objective piece of analysis on EW & Prechter. Worth noting that this is the type of analysis that is critical when trying to draw conclusions on any theories/technical analysis approaches etc etc.

I won't labour views on EW anymore as the other 4 comments sum it up much better than I ever could

Simply put, is it better to put your money behind EW/Prechter or not? (Monkeys could predict the market better than they could)

Potential Gold Developer Takeout List

Time to bag some profits on CELG for me but in the meantime, NYB looks like its forming a breakdown pattern with bearish div, high volume today and an indecision DOJI around early April that may be signalling a short term change in trend.

Also, the stock has come a very long way this year. Not to say it can't rally further but a break of 16.90 for me would be bearish

The pattern may need just a bit more time to play out

SY Bearish Pattern?

Posted by vnathwani on 20th of Apr 2010 at 01:46 pm

SY looks like it could break down here. Price has taken several days of rallying and not yet recouped recent one day losses, MACD Falling, Bearish triangle pattern and volume falling on rallies

I am taking a short here with stops on a breakout of the falling trend line

I still question the complete

Max Pain SPY

Posted by vnathwani on 16th of Apr 2010 at 05:19 pm

I still question the complete reliability of using Maxpain until its statistically backtested and proven to add value. It worked today moreso because of Goldmans rather than anything else in my opinion. Then again, it could be that max pain works? Just don't know. I would still backtest it and if it is backtested, at what point does one short or long the market ahead of OE if there is a gap between price and Max Pain Price? A week? 2 weeks?

I am not trying to be negative but just like other theories out there, this one is much talked about with no proven substance and just like other theories have been blown away recently by statistical evidence, this one may also be in the firing line. If anything, I am saving traders money possibly incase some are out there using this information? Of course it will be argued its just one weapon in the armery. My argument is that we simply don't know whether this weapon has any bullets worth firing in the first place

SY Short?

Posted by vnathwani on 16th of Apr 2010 at 08:07 am

Steve. Hi. Do you see SY as a possible short here? 1. Volume was high yesterday with a close below what seems support at $46 2. MACD firmly pointing down 3. Stochastics about to rollover Earnings due next week I think by the way Any thoughts?

A well constructed service. I am sure there will be teething problems as with any launch/service add-on but it will help provide an invaluable service to me for starters when away from the PC especially as situations arise throughout the day.

Is the 5min giving a sell signal on the S&P?

Sybase Short?

Not sure if this image will come up but is Sybase a good short here Steve? Above average volume (I have coded something in TS that tells me projected vol for the day and it looks like being around 200% of average)

Its broken support and MACD is firmly pointing down

Reporting 22nd April
