MAT took good volume today

Posted by frtaylor on 31st of Jan 2012 at 03:13 pm

Thanks for the MAT trade, Matt!  It's on track to have either the 2nd or 3rd highest volume day in the last year.  I am holding some for tomorrow.

goldnice, your ABD trade is looking like it's on today -

Yeah, I was really surprised when I read that he overrode the trade (and of course disappointed, with 20/20 hindsight).  Because I had not been using his system until November, I avoided all those bad trades, but still I am slightly negative w/ the last two trades being in the red overall.  I was ready to take that last one had he posted.

Unbelievable. I had bought at 2.76 about a week ago near support.  It went up to about 3.18, at which point I put my stop loss at my entry.  I got stopped out this morning, right at the bottom of the day.  Well, I guess I'll have another chance at it.

Thanks, Matt.

ONXX at the bottom of the pattern right now, if you want to buy at support.

I'm sorry to say, Matt, the folks who do this have never heeded your previous appeals to adhere to the rules, so I don't know why they would this time.  Some more serious medicine is needed.

Not to mention the ad hominem approach - never any reasoned argument, just bashing.  Pathetic.

freestockcharts.com also shows 33.47, as does google finance.

CY looks like a decent buy today, as it's made a higher high than that on ex div day, and volume is high.

GDXJ: discrepancy!

Posted by frtaylor on 9th of Jan 2012 at 02:53 pm

Matt, on my Fidelity GDXJ chart, the high on November 8th was 33.47.  This is a much higher price than that which shows on your stockcharts chart, which comes in around 31.30 or so.  The point is it changes the slope of the downtrend line substantially, so that on my Fidelity chart we are nowhere near a breakout on GDXJ.

hard to know if the bounce is just a correction and then we resume down again.  If we close up here we will have retraced well over 50% of yesterday's candle, negating the evening star pattern.

Dan Fitzpatrick, TA guy

I get Dan's free videos.  He's a pure chartist, TA guy.  He said with conviction that we're going lower at least from yesterday's low.  With Matt's discussion of yesterday's retreat being on the big side for a wave 4, that lends credence, but I wonder what else Dan sees that makes him so sure?

New GDX Swing System

One thing that might be nice would be to email or put up a sticky note when it's overbought/oversold on the 60 min chart, then those who want to follow it intraday can get bumped to do so.  But an end-of-day notice is also fine.  And thank you for your effort on the system.

Matt, much appreciated when you
