A stock picking service I subscribe to has a buy recommendation

My understanding is that a large float of shares was released a
few days ago from early holders as part of a planned
offering....ie; not new shares. This float is just being
taken up now.
Actually, I believe there is a political play here as
well. Their frac technology uses liquid gases such as propane
to fracture the shales, instead of water, and the fracing fluid is
mostly recovered. Some regions which prohibit hydrofracing
still allow it with Gasfrac's technology.
For fellow Canadian members, Scotia Mocatta is a primary gold
dealer. You can buy and sell gold through any Scotia bank,
although there is a delivery fee to/from any branch outside of the
one co-located with the Scotia Mocatta office in Ottawa.
Another factor supporting strength in this sector is the Rare
Earths summit in Toronto, which wraps up tomorrow. Many of
the presentations are likely hitting the net now.....
oops1e, Molymet bought a $390m block of new shares in MCP at a
10% premium over the Jan 30 close price, which would seem to be
positive, but apparently JPM have been trash talking the deal all
yesterday.
I read an article a while back about a technology which allows
thorium with a small percentage of plutonium to be used as a fuel
rod in certain types of existing reactors, with only small
changes. The resultant benefit is all of the advantages of
thorium, with the added bonus of burning up some plutonium waste
from existing technology reactors.
ditch, it's easier to buy up futures overnight with lots of
leverage, in a thin market, compared to the cash index. What
I'm noticing though, are that investors are not 'buying' it as much
as they used to. ie; used to be the futures are up, so most
times the cash index runs up first thing. This isn't always
happening these days.
vimal, I've been watching the S&P reaction to POMO for quite
some time. Before QE2, the buying did not happen every
day. On the days it did, the market was usually
positive. QE2 has buying nearly every day. Since then,
I have not noticed any correlation to the amounts, or even any
difference on the rare days where there is no POMO, or a very small
one. My observation only, I have not gone through the
stats.
1313 looks to be the next appreciable resistance area, and is
also the 38% fib off the recent high, to today's low....just a
guess on my part....would welcome any confirmation.
There was a fellow about 10 years ago, who cracked a code in the
Keno game at the Montreal casino. He would watch for a
certain apparently random sequence of numbers and then play.
The supposedly random numbers were based on a formula related to
prior numbers. The gaming people arrested him in the winners
lounge, but eventually had to let him keep the winnings.
They sure don't say much in the article. I know there is a
company in Washington that has a process to mix thorium with spent
uranium and all the associated bad stuff. When this thorium
fuel rod is used, the spent rod is much less nasty, ie; only a few
hundred year radioactive half life. This is less a
replacement process and more having to deal with highly radioactive
and toxic spent fuel rods.
