I will try to ask the question, but I sense I am stumbling to
ask the correct question. As a learning student to stock
investing, I want to know, when and how do I determine, to rotate
my investments from growth to dividends? Or maybe another way to
ask, when should I change my newsletter subscription from a growth
newsletter to dividend newsletter?
I understand growth vs. dividends depend on the personal
investment styles. But beyond that, here are some of my thoughts I
am trying to understand, to answer "WHEN & HOW" investment
rotation.
The country’s GDP above or below 2%. But the GDP forecast are
slow and usually incorrect.
Corporation’s quarterly earnings forecast. But where would I get
a total summary, or is this the country’s GDP forecast?
Maybe a monthly S&P500 chart with a long moving average?
Maybe when S&P dividend’s forecast is greater then the GDP
forecast?

GREAT review tonight(Wednesday), thanks MATT.
The other night, I think Monday, you mention something about the
General Market Analysis taking to much time, and maybe you would
skip doing it on a nightly basis.
As a trend/swing type, I REALLY appreciate the nighly General
Market Analysis.
Please, please, please
continue.
However, as a swing investor, I only need the daily SPX and
maybe sometimes, the 60min charts, when the VIX goes higher above
32. But for me, the 30min, 15min, 5 min, I don't review.

I lived in Houston 2003-2005. In and around Houston, the real
estate property tax was 3.5% to 4%.
Unlike Calif with Prop 13, TX can raise its property tax anytime
the local government needs to. Also add school tax. TX does have
very good public schools, better then CA. CA public schools are
going broke.
I am just starting to play with their site. For me a swing
trader to active investor, their alerts are great. But for a fast
day trader, hmmm maybe no.
The alerts does price, EMA crossovers, volume, etc.
Theirs alerts are on a daily chart,
on their server, not your PC. Its written the alerts go out 15 minutes
after trigger, during the trading day.
Zignals has Microsoft backing. Yes, Microsoft.
Zignals allows its members to post and sell trading strategies.
They also track the strategies. Charting is so-so. Their internet
speed for screen changes is slow.
The community is delayed by three days for non registered users.

Best Smartphone App(s) for ALERTS

What is the best smartphone app(s) for:
1) ALERTS , trigger by technical indicators, NOT price
AND
2) reviewing charts with indicators
??????????
TD's TOS, TC2000, Fidelity, Schwab, Tradestation, eTrade, Scottrade, Google, Yahoo, BreakPointTrades ????????
Trading style:
I am not a day trader, but a swing trader/investor. For charting, End of Day would be OK. But for ALERTS, I would like real time.
Reason I ask, I am finally ready to dump my 7 years old flip phone and pay for a data plan (do I hear cheap, cheap, cheap).
Please, lets not get into which is a better phone iPhone vs Android, vs Windows 8.
Let do the pro and con of the apps

I hope it helps. It uses:
$VIX with HL at 17, 32, 45
$SPX 60 min, EMA 60 & 500
Slow STO 600, 0 and I use the TRIX 100 instead of the MACD

Attention to all Stockcharts Users:
I am begging you to do a request to Stockcharts to create a $BPRUT bullish percent indicator for the Russell 2000 small cap index.
We have a $BP for the other major indexes, but not Russell 2000.
Pleaseeeeee do the request!
At
http://stockcharts.com/support/techsupport.html
Why?
I am a swing/position trader, and I find trading the $BP indexes and majorsectors to be very easy and profitable.
THANKS
NYSE stocks only 82% of the S&P 500 index
Posted by ameritrader on 4th of Feb 2010 at 09:07 pm
Many of you may know, but others like myself did not know,
S&P 500 index includes (approx) 70 Nasdaq stocks and a few AMEX stocks, a few foreign corporations stocks, the rest from the NYSE.
The NYSE stocks are (approx) 82% of the S&P500.
This is based on index lists of Feb 4, 2010. The lists do change with time.
So when we chart the NYSE charts (like the NYSI Summation Index) with comparisons to the SPX, just remember the SPX is only (approx) 82% of NYSE
The Nasdaq stocks included in the S&P500 index are:

Wednesday Night Review
Posted by ameritrader on 24th of Dec 2009 at 01:02 am
Hi Matt
I just watched the Wednesday Night Review.
GREAT review as usual, THANKS!
I am a swing trader, and really appreciate the long term indicators you show us.
I love the SlowSto 60 , the NYSI indicator. the ratio trends, and others.
Thanks so much!
