$BKX and $TRANS

$BKX and $TRAN made lower lows than Nov 20.  This seems bearish to me.  IMHO. Smile

did you notice $RUT closed down over a 1%, $comp down 0.2%.  Prior to this recent decline, these have been the leaders.  In the Fall, $RUT and $COMP led the decline.  Just something to keep in mind.

I do agree, I was looking for more downside today, but that did not occur.  I did unload several short positions, because I had nice profits.

I am surprised that the capital gain loss is still capped at 3k, especially with last year.  Although, capital gains are not capped at 3k per year.   Interesting how that works.

I wonder how this mortgage

Housing Plan

I wonder how this mortgage plan would effect people who own more than one house.  In the last few years, members of my own family own more than one.  In most cases, they rent them out. What happens to someone if they owe more than one house?  What happens if they can't find a renter?  should they receive relief? Makes me wonder, what is the benefit to be honest, hard working, saving money, living within ones means? I wish I could ask for a reduction in mortgage or a reduction in principle, or even having my student loan principle reduced.  I can't even deduct my interest, because my husband and I make too much money, just because we are both engineers and have been working for 13 years and work really hard.  Sorry, for the rant, but I don't believe this behavior should be rewarded.  Frown

I will be watching WMT

I will be watching WMT earnings release closely, followed by futures.

I grocery shop at WMT, frankly, you can't beat their prices for national grocery brands and cleaning products.  However, I stay away from the fruits and vegetables, they don't look the best.  At least at the one I shop at in NC. Anyway, when I go there, I watch what people are buying.  People are only buying groceries.  Many people are there, but it is just the necessaties.  I have noticed that at Costco, too.  Normally, I shop during the busiest days, because that is what my schedule also, so I try to be really observant.

Also, my husband has made it a habit to stop by each Circuit City at least once per week, he notices that many people are going into the store, but not may people are buying merchandise.  I noticed the same thing this past Saturday, I observed 40 people coming out, with in 10 minutes, and no one had one item or bag.

I don't have a Schwab account, but have TD Ameritrade and Scottrade.  They both have an Export tool, perhaps you could check with your brokerage if they have the same option.  it make it alot easier to generate a schedule D.  i am currently in the process to doing this myself and takes many hours.  I export each account and orgainize the trades into short and long postions and then alphabetize within each category.  Then I enter it into Taxcut manually, so I thorough. I have tried to import directly into to Taxcut, but I ran out of line items for Schedule D, so I need to consolidate them.  all of my trades are short term. hope that helps.
