Gold was up $25.  The close of gold on most platforms is based on the comex close at 1:30pm.  The close at 5pm or slightly after is the aftermarket close.  I have the comex close at 1:30pm at $1446.20

Matt..was looking at BAX, obviously a great chart and breakout thru approx $69, but it has major negative divergences on the daily on each high from Nov. to Jan to Feb.  Am I missing anything here?

Looks to be setting up nice here.

Interesting, that now makes 4 analysts in the last three days to say its going lower, including goldman.

A better question..who bought 192 million ounces of paper silver?  For every seller there has to be a buyer.  Someone/somebody/some country just had bids all the way down and like Dan Akroyd and Eddie Murphy, just stood there and said "I buy, I buy, I buy..."  Wold like to find that out because I already know who sold.

Bullard on CNBC

Posted by parrrich on 23rd of Aug 2012 at 09:17 am

In case anyone didn't see/hear Bullard on CNBC this morning the majority of his talk was very hawkish and saw no need for any additional QE, UNTIL...his last response to a question regarding the 25 bp that the Fed pays for deposits from banks... he said "he has come around to the idea of reducing this rate to zero, and even going NEGATIVE as the Fed is currently subsidizing banks."  The last number I saw as to how much was on deposit at the Fed from the banks was $1.4 TRILLION!!  My tkeaway from this is the VELOCITY of money in the economy will explode if the Fed does something like this and that of course would lead to Hyperinflation.   Hold onto your hats people.
