Hadn't read today's WSJ before that post - there's a story on
the 'Yellen Call' replacing the 'Bernanke Put' - she shouldn't take
all the blame for the Greenspan-Bernanke tulip era, but she's the
fall-gal. Sorry, grandma!
The once great investor became a crony deal-maker, book-talker
& political hack a long time ago. And, once he strayed from his
own rules, he became a bad investor too.
I'm always suspicious of that kind of pre-earnings ramp.
Probably an even bet that it's institutions getting retail to chase
& selling into them. That's also a form of 'someone knows
something'!
WYNN is a good example of an hourly setup for a trade from
extended levels with no daily divergence yet. Just for the nimble
until you get the larger timeframe in line.
May have mentioned this before. A supplier to WMT told me
recently how badly the company has deteriorated due to complacency
in middle management. Not relevant to a short-term trade, but a
reason there may not be a repeat of 08's outperformance in similar
conditions. Something like long DG (or whatever emerges as a
low-cost performer), short WMT may work.

Ken Fisher is a closet indexer. He doesn't stray more than about 2% from each sector weight inside the S&P500.

If that's all that oil can get out of an oversold, headline-induced rally, risk remains high for equities.
